Growth Habit: Erect, grass-like, native perennial. Reproduces from bulbs and seeds.
Leaves: 5 to 6 basal, grass-like, V-creased leaves that are not branched.
Stems: Simple, up to 2 feet tall.
Flower: White to yellowish terminal cluster.
Roots: Underground bulb.
Seeds: Rough, brown in color. Forms in a three part seed capsule.
Other: All parts of this plant contain a poisonous alkaloid. Sheep are commonly poisoned; having respiratory problems after eating 1/2 to 2 pounds of green forage.
